RJ DJ & Party Service is proud to be a member of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) as well as a sitting committee member of safety committees affecting our industry. We also own a copy of NFPA (Nation Fire Protection Association) safety standards including the NEC (National Electrical Code).
RJ DJ & Party Service is dedicated to the safety of our staff, our customers, and all patrons. Here are some examples of safety within our company:
Uniforms
You will notice that RJ DJ And Party Service event staff wear a bright green uniform, not only are those uniforms one of the company colors but they are ANSI (American National Standards Institute) approved. ANSI has three classifications for safety uniforms and here is a brief summary of this:
Class I garments are intended for workers who have ample separation from vehicular traffic that does not exceed 25 mph. Class I garments are often safety vests that are recommended for parking service attendants, workers in warehouses with equipment traffic, shopping cart retrievers, sidewalk maintenance workers and delivery vehicle drivers.
Class II garments are for users who need greater visibility in poor weather conditions and whose activities occur near roadways where traffic speeds exceed 25 mph. This class of garment is suitable for railway workers, school crossing guards, parking and toll gate personnel, airport ground crews and law enforcement personnel directing traffic.
Class III garments provide the highest level of visibility to workers in high-risk environments that involve high task loads, a wide range of weather conditions and traffic exceeding 50 mph. Class III garments, provide coverage to the arms and/or legs as well as the torso, and can include pants, jackets, coveralls or rain wear. The standard recommends these garments for all roadway construction personnel and vehicle operators, utility workers, survey crews, emergency responders, railway workers and accident site investigators RJ DJ & Party Service is outfitting all of its employees with Class Two or Three safety uniforms. Even though only a Class 1 would be required for 99% of our operations.
Vehicles
In 2009 RJ DJ & Party Service contracted with Drivers Alert to monitor the driving of ALL company owned vehicles. You will notice Yellow or White decals with a vehicle id and 1-800 phone number to call and speak with our contracted management company to report GOOD and BAD driving. Of course you can also report the information to our main office, but why wait to call the main office. See the problem; call the number on the truck. That way we get the report while the driver is behind the wheel. We have adopted several rules regarding driving complaints and concerns. Rest assured that we ONLY keep safe drivers on staff. • Drivers that exit the vehicle to Get Out And Look prior to backing up when they can’t see.
• Spotters that exit the vehicle at safely spot company vehicles backing up whenever possible.
• Visible safety inspections on the windshield of company owned vehicles.
Ride Safety
RJ DJ & Party Service is proud to comply with NEC Article 525. In short article 525 applies to portable amusement rides like our inflatables. Article 525 compliance required us to change our extension cords to heavier gauges and made of special materials to increase safety. We also change all of our plugs to Twist and Lock plugs that comply with article 525. Article 525 also covers generators and power distribution systems, all of which RJ DJ & Party Service is proud to say comply
Monitoring
RJ DJ & Party Service is constantly monitoring the company for safety issues to fix. If you happen to see a safety issue please bring it to our attention to be resolved ASAP.
